Dr. Steven Neihaus
DVM, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Surgeons
Award-winning veterinarian Dr. Steven Neihaus specializes in veterinary orthopedic and oncologic surgery, as well as soft tissue reconstruction. He has dedicated his career to animal health and welfare, donating his surgical skills to the Jacksonville Zoo and local rescue organizations. Dr. Neihaus attended the University of Florida and graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Neihaus has published multiple research papers, presented at national veterinary conferences and was the recipient of the prestigious Clinical Research Award at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Residents Forum. Dr. Neihaus is a member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Veterinary Orthopedic Society. Dr. Neihaus and his wife, also a veterinarian, have three children and two four-legged family members – a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and a standard poodle.

Emily Wexler
Veterinary Technician
Emily Wexler has more than a decade of experience assisting in general and surgical veterinary procedures. As Dr. Neihaus’ most experienced technician during surgery, she works tirelessly alongside him to improve the lives of pets and families. Emily studied biology at the University of North Florida and began her veterinary career in general practice. Soon after, she became trained in anesthesia management of highly complex surgical procedures and became an in-demand anesthesia technician. Since 2017, she has worked closely with Dr. Neihaus to improve the lives of countless pets and the people who love them. A dedicated pet parent to two cats and one dog, Emily enjoys golf, fishing, snowboarding and exercise.
